Tiling

House of Chester brings a touch of professionalism to your tiling needs.
Trained by one of the top tiling schools in the country, you will be delighted with the results.
As with all my work, I put great emphasise on 'preparation', and tiling is no exception. I have come across many a so called 'tiler' who thinks he/she has an understanding of the trade. But their preparation and setting out has left alot to be desired. House of Chester excels at ensuring that your room is level and evenly balanced.
Many people are unaware of the importance in preventing water from penetrating the substrate behind the tiles. If this happens, then the water can cause the substrate to fail, which can result in costly repairs, or worst case scenario, injury when one falls off the wall. Grout is porous, and when in contact with water, it does allow moisture through. Hence why at House of Chester, we insist that a 'water-proofing' system be put in-place in sensitive areas, where water is going to come into regular contact with the tiles. This can be done either by using either water-proof board, or by using a waterproofing system (tanking), on an already existing substrate.
Under tile heating can be used as primary heat source, but there must be an emphasise on insulating the floor, to ensure that all the heat rises. Be aware that there is a difference between under-tile and underfloor heating. The latter involves bedding pipes into concrete that have hot water running through them. Under-tile heating will give you a completely different experience. Gone are the experiences of bracing yourself for the cold, and the hardness. You will look forward to stepping onto a tiled floor, they will feel softer, and you will enjoy the warmth through your feet. Like anything, there are variances in quality, from experience I recommend Devi heating systems. Please contact if you would like to discuss further, and obtain a price.
rAn attractive wet room installation can make a stunning difference to your home. Open plan living areas are very desirable and help make the best use of your available space. Transform your bathroom into a stylish wetroom without the need of a shower enclosure. Absolutely ideal for small bathrooms, giving them the appearance of being spacious.
By using a hidden flush showertray with preformed gradients on either wooden or concrete bases, efficient drainage is guaranteed.
Although not an essential feature of a wet room, a shower screen can add a real sense of style and sophistication to your wet room.
